Fiction
Summer in the Land of Oz
He had been trying to wash the silver off for fifty years.
It was 1978, and Wes Turner was headed for California – or so he thought. But when a hand-lettered card sends him up a North Carolina mountain, Wes finds himself painted silver and cast as the Tin Man, searching for a heart the story always insisted he didn’t have.
What Wes finds in that fire-scarred Emerald City – amid thirty young people – is a summer of first loves, near-disasters, and a speck of silver that never quite left.
Releasing October 2026 wherever books are sold.
A Summer of Wind
Before Wes Turner reached Oz, he was a Coast Guard Academy cadet.
And that summer – aboard a ship, completing a mission he couldn’t speak of – unmade him. It was 1977, and what happened to Wes would drive him up the Emerald Mountain.
A prequel to Summer in the Land of Oz, this is how one summer made Wes lose his heart – and start the journey towards finding it.
Agantuk
Book 1 of The Fiduciary Alliance series
Nature does not make octagons, thought Daniel Grayson. He had spent a lifetime searching the heavens, and now he had not only found it – but it was coming straight for them.
In the vein of Iaian M. Banks and Kim Stanley Robinson, backed with the philosophies of Adam Smith and the Dalai Lama, Earth is confronted with a first-contact scenario that contains a warning – and an offer 12,210 years in the making.
It will take an astronomer, an astronaut, and a king to answer it.
Student Success
15 Weeks
Fifteen Weeks follows first-year college students through one transformative semester with Dr. Jack Bennington — known to his class simply as “Bear” — whose unconventional classroom, complete with a bag of stuffed bears, becomes the setting for the real work of college: learning to belong, to be seen, and to become who they’re choosing to be. Written as fiction but grounded in real first-year struggles — identity, mental health, connection, and the quiet fear of not measuring up — Fifteen Weeks serves as the introductory companion to PUSH!, Professor Money Bear’s workbook for students ready to accelerate their success in college and beyond.
PUSH!
PUSH! is a practical, research-backed guide to actually thriving in college – not just surviving it. Narrated by Professor Bear alongside a cast of relatable student characters, the book walks readers through the real challenges – and skill-building – that determines success: how learning actually works, why sleep is a secret weapon, how to manage stress and anxiety, how to build genuine belonging and connection, how to think critically and meaningfully use AI, and more. Each chapter pairs actionable strategies with “Deep Dive” explorations of the science, making PUSH! both a semester-long course textbook and a resource students can keep returning to. Paired with Fifteen Weeks or used with our many free downloads, PUSH! gives students – and their instructors – the tools to build the kind of extraordinary life they dream about.
Personal Finance & Investing
Most personal finance books are written for a single reader: the twenty-something starting out; the household in debt; the pre-retiree who needs “enough”; or the reitree who needs to make it last. Each book is written for one of those readers.
We do not want to write that book. Because those books don’t speak to real life – the households of multiple people, facing challenges across generations. Personal finance – really, any finance worth the name – is the practice of making decisions across a life, not within a life stage. The decisions that look very different from 28 and from 65 turn out, on closer inspection, to be the same handful of decisions, asked in different voices.
Our guide is based on real-life experiences, embodied in the wisdom Professor Bear (partly based on Ron A. Rhoades) and four characters – 28-year-old James navigating student loans and a serious girlfriend; 42-year-old Maria with two teenagers and rebuilding after divorce; 55-year-old Malik with a long marriage, long career, and supporting both older and younger generations; and 67-year old Isara, a recent widow learning that the skills that built her safety net are not the skills that draw it down. The scenes are ones we have seen – in our family, and in others – and the numbers are real. It is plain-language, real-world, and story-driven – with the checklists, worksheets, and downloadable resources to help you apply it to your own life.
What we hope for you is what we hope for our students and our clients: not perfect knowledge, which no one has, but the confidence to act, the discipline to keep acting, and a clear enough picture of your own situation that the next big decision — and there is always a next big decision — finds you ready.
